SHAWN MATYCZUK • RCST, MS, LPN
Hi, I’m Shawn and I’ve been providing massage and craniosacral Therapy since 2001. In my practice I’ve supported people through all stages of life; from young children to the elderly. I’ve gained my experience through nursing as an LPN, from registered biodynamic craniosacral therapy and massage therapy with a cranial osteopathy approach. I’m very grateful for the experiences I’ve been able to have, and how they have helped shape my career and skills.
Aches & Pains – You don’t need to live with them.
“A vice between my pillow and mattress has got my neck in a bind,” I replied, as I rubbed my shoulder. Shawn smiled and assured me he would focus on the problem during our session. His studio was soothingly lighted with blue LEDS and decorated with starfish and shells and a surfboard propped up in the corner — an inviting retreat from a sometimes chaotic world.
Craniosacral therapy and the bond between mother and child
Attending an annual house party of chosen family this past Christmas eve ran into a close friend who was nine months pregnant. She was due in 4 days and dis-comfort had set in. In conversation was called to drop to one knee, resting my elbow and my leg and hand elevated to my friend's belly to relieve the pressure the child brought onto the mother's back and shoulders. At this point, I offered to provide a Christmas day session.
Honoring our elders in care through presence and craniosacral therapy
For the last decade in life I’ve worked closely with some of the most unique and amazing elders living and dying within long term care. I’ve held space as a chef, a nurse, a manager leading and mentoring staff, massage specialist and Registered Craniosacral therapist.
